Badel Block Zagreb
Seit 1991 ist Zagreb die Hauptstadt von Kroatien. Die Stadt Zagreb ist zwischen Europa und dem Nahen Osten gelegen, wurde nie zerstört, auch nicht während des zweiten Welt .Die Geschichte der Stadt kann man 900 Jahre mit historischen Texten folgen.
Auf der Nordseite sind die langen und bewaldeten Berge zum Schutz der Stadt vor der Kälte des Nordwindes.Das Tal unter den Bergen ist im Osten und Westen offen, so dass der Verkehr der Stadt immer gut mit ihren Nachbarn verbunden war. Von der südlichen Seite, ist die Stadt von der "Sava" gekreuzt, der Fluss von Zagreb.Die Stadt ist das Ergebnis der beiden Stadtteile, Gradec und Captol. Captol hat das Profil eines unregelmäßigen Rechtecks, Gradec hat die Form eines gleichschenkligen Dreieckes.
Der Badel Block wurde ursprünglich konzipiert als Industriegebiet von Vladimir Arco, in der Nähe der Kvaternikov Kreuzung.
Das neue Projekt führt drei neue Streifen ein, neben den nördlichen bestehenden Gebäuden des Badel Blocks.
- der nördliche grüne Streifen mit Appartments, Büros, sozialen Funktionen und dem ehemaligen Fabrikgebäude
- der Mittelstreifen mit der Piazza und unterirdischem Gebäude mit Einzelhandel und Kulturfunktionen, Licht und Luft kommen von der oberen Piazza.
- der südliche Streifen mit Restaurants und Cafés, Büros und Gewerbefunktionen, eine Skulptur aus Stahl mit einer architektonischen Promenade an dessen Ende, die Spitze des Gebäudes (Sky Cafe) mit einem Blick zurück in die Altstadt von Zagreb.
Die Gestaltung des Gebäudes nimmt das Dreieck auf vom gegenüberliegenden Marktplatz und entwickelt dieses Dreieck im Raum und Form weiter, so dass sich die Formkurven um das ehemalige Fabrikgebäude drehen.
Der Badel Block wird so zu einem magischen Ort für die Zagreber zum Leben und Arbeiten, für soziale und kulturelle Aktivitäten.
Since 1991, Zagreb is the capital city of croatia. The city of Zagreb is situated between Europe and the middle east, was never destroyed, even not during the second world war.The history of the town can be followed 900 years with historical texts.
On the north side, the long and wooded mountains are protecting the city from the cold northwinds.The valley under the mountains is open in the east and west direction, so that the traffic of the city was always well connected with their neighbours. From the southern side, the city is crossed by the „sava“, the river of Zagreb.The city is the result of the two middle age communities, Gradec and Captol. Captol has the profile of an irregular rectangle, Gradec is an equal-sided trangle.
The Badel Block, originally concipated as an industrial area from Vladimir Arco, is situated near the Kvaternikov Trg square at the east side of downtown.
The new project introduces three new stripes in addition to the northern existing buildings of the Badel Block.
- the northern green stripe with appartments ,offices, social functions and the yeast production factory building
- the middle stripe with the piazza and underground building with retail shopping or culture functions, getting light and air from above, the piazza.
- the southern stripe with retail shopping, restaurants and coffee shops, offices and commercial functions , a sculpture in steel with an architectional promenade having its end at he top of the building(sky cafe) with a view back to the old town of Zagreb with the Jelacica place. The design of the building takes the triangle of the market place and is developping this triangle in space and form so that the form curves around the distillery building on the Badel Block.
The Badel Block becoming a magic place for the Zagreb people for living and working, for social and cultural activities.
